Hi Everyone,

I was in Budapest for three weeks in December and am now in Prague, celebrating the new year. I will head back to Budapest the same day all of you arrive, on Sunday 1/3. I'll see you at the Marriott where I'll be much less jet-lagged than you!

In case it helps for packing purposes, you should know that it has been in the 30's and 40's. Bring warm stuff, but not Minnesota warm. Maybe November warm, with a nice coat, a hat, and gloves. I suppose it can rain in Hungary, but it hasn't in three weeks. Bring good walking shoes, of course--Budapest is very, very walkable and absolutely gorgeous at night.

I've been to both Prague and Vienna (I'm sure Prof. Hanson has too), which are great options for free weekends during Interim. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about going to either place.

I look forward to seeing everyone in a few days. I hope your trip is uneventful.

Happy new year!

(Prof.) Jill D.
