Day 17: Tearing up the Tau(n)

Jó napot!

In class this morning we learned about multiplicative functions, featuring the lovely Greek letters, Sigma and Tau (see title). Lecture was both interesting and challenging, just the way we like it.

Sickness seems to be following our group around, as more and more members of our class fall to sniffles and sneezes. To all our fellow BudaBuddies, stay #healthy.

Inside the Cave Church
After class today we went to the Renyi Institute for a showing of A hídember, a movie about the life of the "greatest Hungarian," Szechenyi Istvan. Szechenyi was a politician, theorist, and writer, who dedicated his life to reforming the country. He is responsible for building the first permanent bridge connecting Buda and Pest, as well as founding the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, both of which  stand today, and was instrumental in bringing steam ships, trains, and dozens of other technologies to his beloved Hungary. The film was followed by some very helpful commentary and question-answering by our favorite András.

The Liberty Bridge at Night
Post-film, some of us headed back to the hotel for some much needed naps and to get started on the homework.  A few of us ventured out to the beautiful Gellért Hill Cave Church, and climbed the hill for some stunning views of Budapest at night.

GUYS! MASHED POTATOES!

Later in the evening, some of us headed our to what has become another one of our favorite restaurants, Fat Momma, a trendy, local favorite, which serves up fantastic meats, fish, and veggies, all cooked to perfection in their oven, Bertha.

We finished out the night with homework and good company. Until tomorrow!
