Day 9: Modular Arithmetic

Szia from your BudaBuddies!
Today was our first full day of math. We headed down to McDaniel College bright and early for a glorious 4  hours with the illustrious Professor Hanson. We had our first introduction to modular theory, and discovered that sometimes 2+2 does not equal 4. After an "interesting" foray into the world of Superman and Krypton's base 7 number system, we decided to reward ourselves with a day of ice skating. But first we went back to our hotel to start our homework. Around 5ish we hopped on the metro and headed over to the city ice rink. It is approximately 6 times the size of your average rink, very well kept, and very popular. We had an absolute blast gliding around next to a very picturesque castle, which actually houses the agriculture museum.
Ice skating in Budapest...
...is a lot of fun...

...and has a great view!

After we had our fill, we went to dinner at what is now our favorite restaurant in Budapest. It is a small Italian place with a fantastic atmosphere, friendly waiters, and AMAZING food, everything on the menu is worth trying. Once we finished every last bite of food on our plates, we stopped to get gelato at a cool little shop where they make flowers with the gelato. Now we're back at the hotel, finishing our homework, and getting ready for another early morning tomorrow as we head to Péch in southern Hungary for a day of exploring and adventure.
